Joshua Zucker is a fifth year student in Architectural Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University with a focus on structural engineering. In May 2017, he will graduate with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Architectural Engineering. He plans to pursue a career in the field of structural engineering.

For two years, Joshua spent time working in the field and the design office. Most recently, he worked as an intern with Odeh Engineers, Inc. in Providence, Rhode Island. There he worked with computer programs such as Revit, 3DS Max and Navisworks. He also did work in the field, laser scanning sites and using those scans to build three-dimensional models in Revit.

 

As a student at Penn State, Joshua is currently enrolled in courses relating to topics such as building failures, steel connection design, surveying, and design of wood structures. He also studied abroad in Rome, Italy through a program run by the Pantheon Institute. There, he took courses on ancient and medieval structural design, cartography and architectural analysis while exploring and learning about the urban fabric of various cities throughout Italy. He will be taking is Fundamentals of Engineering exam in November 2017.

Josh is a member of the Penn State Structural Engineering Association and the Penn State Gymnastics Club. For the latter, he served as the treasurer and a member of the executive board for two years.
